The Inspiration behind the Proverbs 30 ONE Logo Shirt

Mehendi and the use of henna is most often associated with celebrations and rituals
in India and other regions of Southeast Asia and North Africa. Roman records
describe Jewish and Gentile henna use in Jerusalem during the early Christian era,
and there is artifact evidence of early Christian use of henna in the eastern
Mediterranean region and Egypt. The logo is an illustration of the entire chapter
of The Book of Proverbs, Chapter 31. The heart is a simple representation of love-
the love of God, expressed through the forgiveness and removal of our sins through
His Son Jesus Christ. The G’NYAME is an Adinkra symbol with origins in Ghana.
Adinkra symbols represent nature, divinity and everyday life. The G’NYAME symbol
reveals one of the attributes of GOD the Father- meaning “No man knows the
beginning of time or the end of time, BUT GOD.”

The hands say it all. If you look closely, it looks like the mathematical sign for infinity.
Hands are used to create. The Proverbs 31 story describes a woman who is
very creative and everything she does come through her hands as per God’s request.
She is not only a wife and mother, but an employer, teacher, mentor, an activist
and benefactress, an investor, entrepreneur and artist. The bangles represent her
culture and wealth- both spiritually and materially. The intricate designs are drawn
on the hands with henna, also known as mehendi, a means of beautification
that has been in existence for thousands of years. In the logo, the flowers and other
drawings tell the story of the sweetness in her life.
